Me interesan las capacidades híbridas e híbrido como sustantivo. Así como contemplar todo aquello que conforma nuestro hábitat cotidiano y reencontrarme con los vínculos que se establecen entre los diferentes elementos que lo componen. Redescubrir nuevos códigos de relaciones entre los objetos, los cuerpos y los espacios. Fusionar diferentes disciplinas y encontrar el lenguaje plástico que mejor se adapte a aquellos conceptos que articulan el proyecto. Observar desde fuera y desde dentro, cambiando el contexto para investigar el objeto de mira desde múltiples perspectivas. Encontrar lo espontáneo y aquello aparentemente absurdo, pero que nos permite leer entre líneas otras realidades posibles.

Este tipo de procesos me permiten descifrar todo aquello que conforma el conjunto de elementos del entorno cotidiano y a la vez, meterme dentro de ellos y sentir sus cualidades físicas y perceptivas. Entender y a la vez, perderme en la oblicuidad que roza lo de arriba con lo de abajo, lo de la derecha e izquierda.

La obra e investigaciones que realizo parten del arte de objeto, de la acción corporal y del estudio espacial. Los medios que utilizo varían en función de los proyectos, aunque la escultura, la fotografía y el dibujo siempre suelen estar latentes. A través de ellos trabajo las relaciones, el trato o los vínculos que generamos con todo aquello que nos rodea, hasta llegar a trascenderlos con el deseo de plantear líneas discursivas con las que reconsiderar estados aparentemente estancos e inamovibles.

Mar Juan-Tortosa es doctora en arte y producción por la Univeristat Politècnica de València (Cum Laude y Premio Extraordinario de doctorado por la UPV) y artista interdisciplinar que se distingue por la creación de obras basadas en dos disciplinas: las artes aplicadas, a través de la joyería  y las artes plásticas, por medio del arte de objeto relacionado con el cuerpo, la acción corporal y el estudio del espacio. Su obra se genera a través de una serie de investigaciones que se nutren de la técnica y pilares de la joyería, a través de sus sistemas, mecanismos y relaciones entre joya-anatomía humana, y de la capacidad experimental, comunicativa y expresiva del arte.

Su trabajo gira en torno a las relaciones que se establecen entre el cuerpo, el objeto y el espacio. Y a su vez, en torno a la capacidad de intercambio de roles que reside entre ellos.

En la actualidad trabaja en proyectos de producción, colaboración y comisariado, cursos e investigaciones vinculadas al arte de objeto y la joyería.

I am interested in hybrid and hybrid capabilities as a noun. As well as contemplate everything that makes up our daily habitat and meet again with the links established between the different elements that make it up. Rediscover new codes of relations between objects, bodies and spaces. Merge different disciplines and find the plastic language that best suits those concepts that articulate the project. Observe from outside and inside, changing the context to investigate the object of view from multiple perspectives. Finding the spontaneous and the apparently absurd, but that allows us to read other possible realities between the lines.

This type of process allows me to decipher everything that makes up the set of elements of the everyday environment and, at the same time, get inside them and feel their physical and perceptual qualities. Understand and at the same time lose myself in the obliqueness that borders on what is above with what is below, what is on the right and left.

The work and investigations that I carry out are based on object art, body action and spatial study. The means I use vary depending on the projects, although sculpture, photography and drawing are always latent. Through them, I work the relationships, the treatment or the links that we generate with everything that surrounds us, until transcend them with the desire to propose lines of discourse with which to reconsider apparently watertight and immovable states.

Mar Juan-Tortosa doctor in art, production and research by Universitat Politècnica de València (Cum Laude and Extraordinary PhD Grant by UPV) is an artist who is distinguished by the creation of works based on two disciplines: the applied arts, through jewelry and the plastic arts, through the object art related with the body, body action and the study of space. Her work is generated through a series of investigations that are nourished by the technique and pillars of jewelry, through its systems, mechanisms and relationships between human jewel-anatomy, and the experimental, communicative and expressive capacity of art. Her work revolves around the relationships established between the body, the object and space. And in turn, around the ability to exchange roles that resides between them.

She currently works on production, collaboration and curatorial projects, courses and researches related to object art and jewelry.
